For awhile I've been talking about the text effect project, and this is my final product as of now.

graphics 1 final!
Our graphics final project was to turn art into graphic design using tutorials. I chose to start out with a painting I created myself of a road. I looked into a lot of different websites for tutorials I thought would enhance my painting through graphic design, and the ones I used I will mention later. This is a picture of my painting...
I then played around with filters to make my painting look less like a regular piece of art, and more modern, like graphic design tends to be.
I thought the crystalizing filter gave the painting a nice edge.
Now, the plan all along was to show through this piece of graphic design that nature and modern society, represented by roads, can live in harmony. I saw a puzzle piece tutorial, and the idea of all the "pieces fitting together" would represent my theme perfectly.
http://www.photoshopessentials.com/photo-effects/photoshop-puzzle/page-2.php is the site I used for my puzzle effect.
i also learned from text effect tutorials to rastersize type, making it no longer type so I could transform it. Then, I used the pen tool to cut out a section of the puzzle to make space for the words. This was the final effect:
I think that the puzzle came out really nice and does have a really good message.

new project-26 text effects
to find tutorials for my letters, there is a website that looks great! It ishttp://www.smashingmagazine.com/2009/03/04/50-stunning-photoshop-text-effect-tutorials/ and has plenty of options to choose from.
extra credit!
For extra credit, we had to create a google apps logo for morristown high school. We couldn't use the google logo, and could use the phase "powered by google." For my logo, I used school colors, and tried to make my logo interesting to the eye while also being simple enough to read quickly. The background of the website is white, so I think that the logo will pop off the page and be apparent.

parrotfish
as inspiration for this new animal: the parrotfish. It is a combination between a fish and a parrot. First I made the actual animal and this was that final product:
Then, I had to find a setting that looked fitting for my new animal.
Last I put my fish into the new setting. I multiplied and placed them it so that the scene looked more believable.
My final product!

cryptozoo
For our next project, we will be blending together at least two animals to make our own new animal. I've started to look for tutorials and this is what I've found so far:
to make an eleguana: http://www.tenaciouscreations.com/2008/01/13/morphing-animals-with-photoshop/
to make a zebrino: http://www.lucascobb.com/combine-two-animals-in-photoshop/

social awareness
this is my social awareness poster. It is really simple, but i thought that simplicity was the way to go with a poster that is trying to get people to relax. I also tried changing the color of the umbrella, but this one seemed the most fitting with the picture. The font also is very relaxed with not hard lines, and the period makes "relax" into more of a command, which I like.
fantasy
This is my favorite project so far, and this is the best outcome I have had in my opinion. We were supposed to create a fantasy scene, so I decided to do zebras floating away in bubbles. I used a waterdrop tutorial to get an idea of how to distort the zebras to make them look like they were in the bubble, and then used a "spectacular concept art" tutorial to get an idea of how to make the bubbles more luminous.water drop tutorial: http://blog.cizalstudios.com/?p=6#more-6
concept art tutorial: http://psd.tutsplus.com/tutorials/tutorials-effects/create-spectacular-concept-art-in-photoshop/
First, I had to find a picture with bubbles that would work for the project. I had a few options... I obviously did not pick either of these.
The final was between the final i chose, and a final with sparkles instead of more luminous bubbles.
fot his one, I used this tutorial for the sparkles:http://psd.tutsplus.com/tutorials/designing-tutorials/creating-a-fantastic-fantasy-night-sky-in-photoshop/

Letter replacement logo
This is my letter replacement logo. I liked that this was a symbol and not an actual picture, and i think that the symbol is perfect for my first name, bev. The B is outside the root symbol, the E is coming off of the root symbol on the right side, and the V is coming off the root symbol on the left side.
my name logo!
This is my name logo. I thought that this was an interesting play on black and white, but could also work in color, giving it an extra appeal. Also, though kind of complicated, i think it is easy enough to read my name.
initials logo
This is my logo with only my initials, BH. I like this logo because i think that it simple enough to be able to read it and remember it, while being interesting with combining the "b" and the "h"
